Sugar
Sugar is a class of edible crystalline substances, mainly sucrose, lactose, and fructose. Human taste buds interpret its flavor as sweet. Sugar as a basic food carbohydrate primarily comes from sugar cane and from sugar beet, but also appears in fruit, honey, sorghum, sugar maple (in maple syrup), and in many other sources. It forms the main ingredient in much candy Sugar is produced from the evaporation and clarification of the juice that is extracted from the crushed cane. This is widely used as a sweetener in food, beverages & pharmaceuticals etc. Molasses Molasses or treacle is a thick syrup by-product from the processing of the sugarcane or sugar beet into sugar. Molasses is a byproduct generated from the manufacture of sugar as mother liquor. The quality of molasses depends on the maturity of the sugar cane or beet, the amount of sugar extracted, and the method of extraction. It is mainly used as the principal feedstock for the manufacture of alcohol, ethanol, portable liquor and a host of downstream chemicals. Bagasse Bagasse, the fibrous residue remaining when sugar cane crushed, is a major by-product of the sugar industry and is used for generation of steam and power required for processing of sugarcane. In India, mostly it is being used profitably in two ways - for the generation of electricity and for making paper. Co-Generation through Bagasse for captive use & export Bagasse cogeneration describes the use of fibrous sugarcane waste - bagasse - to co generate heat and electricity at high efficiency in sugar mills. Since bagasse has a high heat factor, it is also used in the generation of electricity, which substitutes the conventional thermal alternative and eliminates the emission of greenhouse gases. Presently, sugar mills generate their power requirements from bagasse-fired boilers. The Government of India & respective States have begun to encourage the co-generation of power from bagasse. The power produced may be used for captive consumption and surplus power may be sold to the Power Grids. MS Ingots
MS Ingots is a short form of MILD STEEL INGOTS. The bulk of structural quality mild steel for long products is manufactured by Induction Melting Furnaces. Mild steel ingots are the basic raw material for manufacturing various types of re-rolled products. With the increased infrastructural activities in the country, the demand for mild steel ingots are very high now-a-days. India is the first country using Induction Melting Furnaces for making mild steel. In our Company Surplus power generated after the crushing the sugar cane is being used for manufacturing the Steel Ingots at the Furnace Division. |
